Our Mission

Notre Dame catholic School, a ministry of the Notre Dame Catholic Community, fosters learning through an unsurpassed faith-based education that prepares young people for extraordinary lives.

Our Educational Philosophy

Educational Philosophy Notre Dame Catholic School endorses the call of the Catholic Bishops of the United States to express its educational ministry through the objectives of personal spirituality, social justice, and a strong academic program in accord with the Curriculum Guide for Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Gary.

  1. To develop the total Christian personality by instilling in the students a respect for life and reverence for Christian living.
  2. To develop within the school a strong religious education program so that each child will grow and develop in the Christian way of life.
  3. To facilitate the intellectual, social, and physical development of each child through a variety of instructional methods such as small and whole group instruction, departmental classes, and other tools for basic knowledge and formation.
  4. To aid students in evaluation of their own capabilities and vocational possibilities.

The faculty believes that by connecting the art and the science of teaching within a faith-based environment, the needs of every child can be met, developing in each student the many gifts that God has given in every class every day. Educating the whole child – spiritually, intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically – every child learns to live by the Notre Dame Code: We will see Christ in ourselves and in others and will be Christ for one another.

Our Admissions Process

  • The Student Application must be fully completed and submitted to our office online via FACTS. Tours are scheduled upon Parent request. All student records must be received prior to the approval of the student's enrollment. Once we receive the student's records they will be reviewed by our principal. A shadow and/or assessment will be scheduled at the school's discretion.
  • A student's records must include both academic and behavioral information per our Release of Records request.
  • Notre Dame Catholic School admits applicants who will fulfill the academic requirements of the school and benefit from it.
  • Notre Dame Catholic School retains the right to determine, in its sole discretion, whether or not to select a student for admission, or to re-enroll a student.
  • Determination of acceptance will occur after the review process is complete and approved by the principal.
  • All enrollment paperwork must be completed through FACTS.
